ACTIVITIES
Analyse all reservoir engineering data and incorporate it into 3D reservoir simulation models of fields. This interpretation is carried out in close co-operation with the team Geophysicists, Geologists, and other Reservoir Engineers with the objective of providing 3D models for use in the reservoir management of fields
Supervise/analyse testing offshore, at times making decisions regarding standard routines, within prescribed parameters
Support senior colleagues and carry out standard analyses offshore
Conduct history matching of reservoir simulation models
Define and evaluate development wells: Location, design, incremental production profile
Carry out follow-up of wells realization and interpretation of acquired data
Evaluate the reservoir risks and uncertainties associated with development wells and production facilities aimed at increasing field recovery (e.g. compression, injection facilities). Define actions to mitigate risks
Provide input for annual reserves forecasts for fields, for input into PRIME and Long Term Plan
Present technical results to Partners/head office at Technical Committees and internal reviews
Provide input for annual DTI field reportCONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
Within the Geosciences Department, the objective is to adopt a project structure. Reservoir Engineers will be assigned to 1 or 2 projects. Within the project(s) he/she is assigned to, and under the supervision of the project leader and the Chief Reservoir Engineer, the incumbent is responsible to carry out reservoir engineering studies as specified in the project, within the agreed deadlines, and to the highest quality standard.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Carrying out accurate reservoir modelling and synthesis for operated fields in association with Geophysicists, Geologists and other Reservoir Engineers
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Minimum BSc Hons Degree in Engineering or related discipline, with 5+ years experience in the oil industry as a Reservoir Engineer, preferably with an operator
Full proficiency in Reservoir simulation (both black-oil and compositional), with minimum 2 years practice of ECLIPSE and/or VIP
Good knowledge and practice of reservoir engineering techniques: numerical simulation, well test interpretation, material balance, production logging analysis, PVT analysis, and other company standard reservoir engineering interpretation tools
Understanding of reservoir production mechanisms (IOR/EOR)
Partial autonomy, ability to perform the tasks with some supervision
Basic knowledge of reservoir geology and log interpretation.
