Software Engineer

Our developers build and create the technology on which much of the worlds energy supplies depend, fundamentally affecting the lives of hundreds of millions of people around the world. Our main products are RMS and Tempest, which are considered as among the best in class by users all over the world.
Roxar Software Solutions has technology centres in Oslo and Stavanger in Norway where we develop high performance, interactive software for processing large volumes of scientific hydrocarbon reservoir data on powerful workstations.  Were looking for enthusiastic developers with the drive and ability to deliver reliable and attractive software for our clients around the world, whilst making a genuine contribution to our software engineering culture. 
Our project teams consist of highly skilled and motivated people across disciplines, from domain experts to developers and testers. We work by agile methods (SCRUM) and are determined to deliver code by the highest standards. We are now looking for a new developer to strengthen our RMS team in Oslo, preferably with an additional interest or background in mathematics, physics, geology, reservoir technology or similar.
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Analysis and Design. Analyze requirements and develop functional and technical specifications that provide solutions.
  • User interface design and implementation, primarily using Qt®
  • Software development in C++ and Python.
  • Team Work. Work with other staff to efficiently and effectively coordinate work activities (SCRUM process).
Experience and qualifications:
  • A university (master) degree in computer science or mathematics/physics coupled with relevant experience from software development.
  • A strong interest in developing high quality, user friendly scientific software
  • Knowledge of and participated in most, if not all, of the software development lifecycle.C++ languages and environment (0-5 years experience)
  • User interface design: Techniques and tools
  • Operating systems: Windows®, Linux®
  • Cross platform GUI framework: Qt®
  • 2D Graphics: INT GeoToolkit®
  • 3D Graphics : Open Inventor®
  • Experience from a Geophysics, Geology or Reservoir Engineering discipline is a plus
  • Good English skills
