Faroe Petroleum is an independent oil and gas company focusing principally on exploration, appraisal and production opportunities in Norway, the North Sea and the Atlantic Margin.

The Senior Petroleum Engineer is a key member of the Norway asset team working to deliver maximum value from Faroe Petroleum’s appraisals, developments and production activities. The position also plays an important role in profitably growing Faroe Petroleum’s business by actively participating in a team effort to pursue business opportunities.   

Responsibilities and tasks: 
  • Conduct petroleum engineering evaluations on Faroe Petroleum appraisal, development and production assets to ensure value creation and business performance
  • Contribute actively to delivering quality wells and completions across Faroe’s portfolio
  • Focal point on Production engineering related projects (existing producers and injectors, completion strategies / new wells, work over and interventions)
  • Monitor operational and production performance in Faroe’s assets to achieve high uptime and optimized production
  • Participate actively in delivering Faroe’s for own operated exploration and appraisal wells
  • Represent Faroe Petroleum in Reservoir and Technical Committee license meetings
  • Contribute to the evaluation of commercial opportunities within the existing assets to maximize value
  • Provide input and recommendation on Well Test requirements, criteria and design to operated and non©\operated exploration projects
  • Work closely with the other Asset Team members, G&G / Exploration, Drilling and Wells, Commercial / Business Development and Legal staff in Faroe Petroleum
  • Influence the Operators in the non©\operated assets  

Experience & personal skills:   
  • Minimum 5 years work experience as a Petroleum Engineer in the upstream business, including offshore experience
  • General experience with Field Development (early phase as well as tail end), Well Planning, Drilling, Well Completions and Production Operations
  • OFM, Prosper/MBAL/Reveal, Well Testing (Saphir), PVT, Production Logging, Rock Mechanics, Horizontal Well Technology, Gasl Lift Design
  • Fluent both written and oral English
  • Norwegian skills are an advantage  

Education: 
  • Bachelors and/or Masters in Petroleum Engineering
