Drilling engineer - research and development

TPD, research, development and innovation (RDI) is responsible for Statoil's global RDI strategy, programs and projects. RDI's future structure will be divided in five permanent business units - exploration, mature area developments and IOR, frontier developments, unconventionals, and innovation.

Through the four core areas covering the main upstream building blocks where Statoil is present and growing, we carry out testing and qualification of technology to meet the business needs. In addition, innovation is established as a separate unit and will play a significant role by supporting BA specific innovation roadmaps and by driving Statoil's corporate innovation initiative. RDI also operates and further develops laboratories and large scale test facilities, including the technology centre at Mongstad.

Our ambition is to be world leading in RDI. A world class RDI organization is crucial for supporting Statoil's growth ambition; a daily production of 2.5 million boe in 2020. We aim to be the most successful RDI company in 2020 - recognized for creating new business. Even though Statoil was voted the 7th most innovative company in the world in 2011 (Fortune Magazine), we constantly need to improve in order to succeed. To be a world leading RDI organisation we have identified the following focus areas: innovation, quality and precision, leadership and strategic view.
