Chemical Engineering Program

The Petroleum Institute in Abu Dhabi is seeking applicants for the position of Research Associates in the Chemical Engineering Program. Applicants with research interests and experience in the following areas: (1) hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology and/or (2) (a) process simulation, modeling and optimization (b) supply chain design and operation are especially encouraged to apply.

Position Description: The candidates should have an interest to work in the research areas mentioned above. The candidates should also have the capability to set up and operate a research lab in the related fields. An additional responsibility of this position includes teaching and/or assisting undergraduate and graduate students on research projects.

Qualifications: Applicants should possess an earned PhD in chemical engineering or a closely related field and must have demonstrated experience in the area of fuel cell and hydrogen technology. Preference will be given to applicants with a few years of relevant experience, with a strong background in chemical engineering, and with experience in both experimental and modeling work. Candidates holding a master degree in chemical engineering with more than 5 years of experience are encouraged to apply. Moreover, good professional communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.

Salary/Benefits: The total compensation package includes a tax-free 12-month base salary, and a benefits allowance that covers relocation, housing, initial furnishings, utilities; transportation (automobile purchase loan), health insurance, end-of-service benefit and annual leave travel. Applicants must be in excellent health and will be required to pass a pre-employment physical examination.
