Petroleum Engineers


The Petroleum Engineer functionally works in Chevron's Reservoir Engineering team and is a simultaneously member of multi-disciplinary teams for operating assets and new projects. As Petroleum Engineer you manage all petroleum/ reservoir engineering aspects of Chevron's interests in the diverse portfolio of operated oil and gas assets and new opportunities in the Netherlands. With a technical focus, your responsibilities include generating oil and gas production forecasts, building and maintaining material balance models and conducting Field Development Planning for new developments. You carry out economic analysis and studies to support reserves submissions. The Petroleum Engineer also provides support to the operations group: implementation of EOR systems, preparation of well intervention programs, troubleshooting well performance on a day-to-day basis, perform decision analysis work and running economic analysis for small operation projects (i.e. compressor sizing, generator replacement, well intervention, changes in completion, well proposals or other investments).

Succesfull candidates have a university degree (MSc. or equivalent qualification). You have around 10 years of experience in reservoir simulation (using IPM and Eclipse), production engineering and basic knowledge of economics, ideally in an operating environment. Experience in drilling and well intervention are desirable. Knowledge of local geology and familiarity with the Dutch petroleum regulatory environment are a plus. Fluency in English is required and Dutch is an advantage.
