Brief client details: Our client, a leading oil & gas operator in Calgary, is looking for a Reservoir Simulation Engineer

You will provide simulation and reservoir engineering expertise to a highly motivated Subsurface team responsible for the development of the White Rose field and future delineation/development projects.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Aid in the creation and maintenance of 3-D simulation models;
  • Assist in the planning and execution of depletion/drilling strategies within a team environment;
  • Assist in preparing regulatory applications and interface with the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board;
  • Keep yourself informed of technical advancements in the field of reservoir engineering;
  • Participate in the ECD Emergency Response Plan, as assigned;
  • Assist with overall reservoir engineering guideline development.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • BSc in Engineering, MSc an asset;
  • Eligibility for Professional Engineering status with APEGN is required;
  • 10 + years experience in the oil and gas industry;
  • Knowledge of work flows between geological reservoir model to upscaled simulation model;
  • A strong skillset in reservoir simulation, preferably Eclipse;
  • Strong analytical reservoir engineering background;
  • Strong aptitude towards reservoir management and surveillance;
  • Strong Computing skills including Unix and PC based applications;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
  • Knowledge of PVT, Pressure Transient Analysis and Special Core Analysis;
  • Experience with mature field developments;
  • Strong skill set in oil and natural gas developments;
  • Experience with field depletion planning;
  • Experience with IOR application;
  • Offshore development experience would be considered an asset;
  • Familiarity with/exposure to reserves assessment and reporting considered an asset.

Medical (Physical) Requirements/Standards

Offshore travel may be required for this position.
