Aberdeen - Lead Drilling Cost Analyst
Salary up to £32,000 depending on experience (+exceptional benefits)
Purpose of Job
The Lead Drilling Cost Analyst will be responsible for the provision of full accounting support for designated areas of client operated drilling activity for Faeroes. The key deliverables of the post are detailed below. The post is based in the main client Office at Dyce.
Main Accountabilities
- Conduct all Cost Management Activities associated with a specific Platform and its complex Drilling Activity
- Liaise closely with client staff as necessary to allow the development of well activity Budgets, Drilling Cost Estimates, Authority For Expenditure (AFE's) and Forecast updates
- Ensure good communication and working relationships with Drilling Personnel and the Performance Unit Financial Controller
- Understand allocations/charges to the wells, with particular emphasis on obtaining supplementary approval for projected overspends in a timely fashion
- Ensure effective and accurate presentation of costs for Audit
- Justify, understand and substantiate Value of Work Done (VOWD) estimates and Estimated Final Costs (EFC) and that they are accurately recorded in Information Edge and SAP Monthly
- Organise and attend Weekly/Monthly CAPEX review meetings as part of a proactive ongoing cost management support
Dimensions
- Mainly based at Client Main Office in Dyce.
- The position is part of a team of 8 charged with the provision and management of Drilling Accounting Support to the Client
Qualifications
Skills, knowledge & experience
- Part qualified Accountant or an appropriate experience in Drilling and/or Joint Venture Accounting would be beneficial.
- Good skills in Excel, Word and SAP are required.
- Good communication skills with all level of Staff (Client and In-house).
- The ability to work as part of a team whilst "stand-alone" approx 90% of time at Client's Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
