PURPOSE: This position provides engineering assistance and technical support to the plant’s maintenance efforts. POSITION DEMANDS: • Requires a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with 0-2 years experience. • Possesses a strong understanding of basic engineering fundamentals. • Computer literate in such basic software applications as MS Word and Excel. • Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills are essential. • Must be interested in participating in an industrial plant’s predictive and preventive maintenance programs. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: • Reports to the Maintenance Reliability Superintendent • Works closely with Supervisors, Planners, Superintendents, and Engineering personnel on a day to day basis • Interacts with personnel from other plant departments as well as with contractors, vendors, and equipment manufacturer representatives. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serves as administrator for various reliability based programs. • Interacts with vendors and contractors in support of Reliability Department initiatives. • Sets-up spare parts for new plant equipment and adjusts warehouse stock requirements for existing equipment on an as needed basis. • Develops preventive maintenance work scopes for plant equipment. • Works with senior engineers to redesign problematic equipment for the purpose of improving reliability and increasing service life between overhauls. ACCOUNTABILITY: Successful job performance is measured by timely and efficient repair of plant equipment, lower maintenance costs through improved equipment reliability, and improved safety performance.
