The Lead Drilling Cost Analyst will be responsible for the provision of full accounting support for designated areas of client operated drilling activity for Faeroes. The key deliverables of the post are detailed below. The post is based in the main client Office at Dyce.

A Company established in 2006, leading the way in Permanent Reservoir Monitoring solutions that improve production and recovery from oil and gas reservoirs, seeks a Marketing Coordinator.
The Company secured over £10 million pounds of investment for the development of their pioneering technology solution that enables reliable and cost effective Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM). Typically, oil companies are recovering 30 to 35% of oil reserves in place. Emerging technologies and techniques such as PRM will help push this to 50% or even 60%. With an increased global demand for oil, PRM is growing in both importance and momentum. PRM is attracting significant interest from the industry and investors and the market is now at the point where the Company is building its Sales, and Marketing activities.
The Sales Director is responsible for devising the Marketing Strategy, which you will contribute to. Your overall responsibility will be to coordinate all marketing activities as agreed in this strategy. You will liase closely with internal staff, oil company clients, chosen partners, and the industry in general with the main goal of raising awareness of PRM and the Company’s position in the market.. You will manage relationships with marketing related suppliers and the delivery of the services provided.
Job Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Sales Director, your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Become knowledgeable in the Company’s techniques, solutions, business objectives and mission.
• Become knowledgeable of the market place, the players involved, the Company’s stakeholders. Identify key contacts, and ensure the effective delivery of communications and content.
• Take responsibility for the coordination of all marketing communication activities for the Company. These will include website, trade shows, newsletter, press releases, brochures, white papers, advertising, presentation materials, etc.
• Plan and manage an appropriate marketing mix and ascertain costs and timelines. For example potential trade shows over a 12-18 month period, technical journals for case studies, advertising campaign, global/regional press releases and advertising campaigns.
• Working with the Sales Director, contribute to and participate in preparing a marketing communications budget for all related activities that supports the agreed business objectives.
• Assess current communications to ascertain if they meet the objective of increasing awareness and reputation of the Company and solutions. Make recommendations for improvements and identify suppliers and costing for required work.
• Manage the relationships with suppliers of marketing communications activities. Make sure that your requirements are clearly communicated, costs agreed, expectations set, and that delivery is in a timely and professional manner. Monitor and control.
• Work closely with partners, ensuring effective communications. Explore joint marketing activities and manage participation for the Company.
• Manage all communication materials (e.g. brochures, presentations, press release, case studies etc).
• Working closely with the sales team (e.g. employees, agents, channel sales), help identify appropriate communication activities for their market. Work with them to deliver effective activities to support their regions.
• Monitor the effectiveness of the marketing activities delivered and make recommendations for improvements.

Candidate Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
• Degree preferred – preferably in a marketing, media or business related subject.
• Dynamic individual with a minimum of 2 years work experience in a marketing role essential.
• Proven ability to coordinate marketing activities essential – preferably at an international level.
• Experience of the oil and gas industry highly advantageous.
• Ability to determine effective marketing mix essential.
• Previous experience working with marketing communication suppliers effectively.
• Good grasp of business-to-business marketing essential – previous experience of working with third parties to identify and deliver joint marketing activities desirable.
• Strong business sense – the ability to devise, monitor, manage and communicate marketing activities and expectations to internal and external suppliers essential.
• Must be highly computer literate – must be able to use general Microsoft applications (e.g. Powerpoint, Word, Excel, Email….) essential.
• Personality and confidence to build strong relationships at all levels with peers and stakeholders.
• Assertive – able to achieve goals in a pleasant and effective manner.
• Creative ability to write text/copy for marketing materials (Press Releases etc.).
• Strong Initiative & Resourceful - a self-starter who works well without direct or close supervision. Has a “hands-on” approach. Can get the job done and is not dependent on a significant support structure to facilitate the role.
• Flexibility and enthusiasm is key to the role.
• Previous experience working in a start-up company advantageous.

Package: The Company are offering a Base Salary of £30K-£35K (GBP) plus company benefits, dependent on skills and experience. Possible equity opportunity for the right candidate, depending upon performance & impact on the business.

A post-doctoral researcher position is available at the International Research Institute of Stavanger (IRIS), partly owned by the University of Stavanger, with the industry-funded consortium project, Caribbean Basins, Tectonics, and Hydrocarbons (CBTH) led by The University of Texas at Austin. The position is for one year, renewable for another year, starting in January 2009.
The CBTH project involves a GIS-based synthesis and interpretation of geologic, seismic and well data from northern South America.
Experience supported by academic publications will be considered in the following areas: subsurface interpretation of seismic and well data using Landmark and/or Petrel-based workstations, quantitative subsidence analysis using wells, 2D flexural analysis and basin modeling, quantitative structural restoration of geologic and seismic data, ArcGis, database management, and regional geologic and tectonic integrations. Excellent communication skills are expected as the candidate will contribute to and author reports, presentations and publications.
