Petroleum Engineer - Reservoir Simulation skills

Brief client details: : Our client, a senior independent oil and gas exploration and production company is looking for a Petroleum Engineer with reservoir simulation experience to be based in their Aberdeen office.

Job Overview: Working with more senior Petroleum Engineers you will carry out reservoir simulation studies, economic evaluations and data gathering in support of managing the reservoirs and identifying opportunities for development.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Working with simulation models, under the direction of more senior engineers you will build, validate and history match models and make prediction runs to forecast reservoir performance. Assist with data compilation and presentation preparation.
  • Work with senior engineers to provide production forecasts from decline analysis and predict reservoir behaviour using material balance calculations.
  • Collect, analyse and present well test data and reservoir implications.
  • Work with Production and Petroleum Engineers to verify allocated oil, gas and water data and update databases or files for use by the department.
  • Gather data and assist with economic evaluations and justifications of development opportunities.
  • Assist with the compilation of data sets in support of Corporate Budget and Reserves Audit processes.
  • Gather and compile data from company records or literature searches in support of field studies undertaken by senior petroleum engineers.

Experience and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Good general computer skills, including Microsoft Office and specifically in Excel.
  • Reasonable understanding of the oil and gas industry and reservoir engineering.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of fluid flow in porous media..
  • Oil exploration and development operations overview.
  • Master's in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent experience/qualification.

Preferred

  • Some reservoir simulation experience.
  • Economic awareness.
  • Reservoir engineering analytical skills; decline curve analysis, material balance, welltest analysis, well performance modelling, PVT and SCAL analysis, facility constraint modelling, etc.

Salary: circa £35k + bens (dependent upon current experience)

Required for a government oil and gas company, a Senior System Analyst / Developer for Exploration & Production Information Systems. Summarized below are the main responsibilities and the qualifications: Responsibilities: Leads / provides the support / development / implementation of EXPRIS customized / readymade applications.

Includes defining systems design requirements, creates / develops prototype systems, program design, and development, testing and acceptance, produces relevant documentation and systems implementation. Takes the responsibility for maintaining and coordinating with E & P migration project teams in all aspects of E & P data interfaces between migration projects and in-house developed applications. Prepares detailed specifications from which complete sets of programs will be written and assumes overall responsibility for product quality and technology contents. Participates in project planning, monitoring, target setting and accountability for resource management, product quality control and standards enforcement. Develops and maintains facilities to assist in the development and maintenance of EXPRIS IT infrastructure. Provides documentation and detailed designs, and testing the implementation for any new E & P application. Minimum Requirements: B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Reservoir Engineering, Science or related discipline in addition to Computer Science degree. Minimum of 7 years experience in E & P data, information and knowledge management activities and technical computing including at least 5 years of project management and planning. Preferably with minimum of 3 years experience in petroleum operations / development covering exploration, reservoir management, geosciences and petroleum engineering. Excellent written and spoken English. Salary Best as per the Industry Standards.
